Message from the Oberbürgermeister of Schwäbisch Gmünd
Dear friends in Barnsley,
Together with Barnsley Schwäbisch Gmünd Twin Town Society I would like to extend a cordial welcome to all visitors on this website. The twinning connections between Barnsley and Schwäbisch Gmünd are very special.
If you count the time from the very first youth exchanges between our towns you arrive, in 2021, at a very impressive 67 years! Such a long and lively relationship is only possible due to the commitment of the towns' citizens.
Therefore, I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone in our twin town of Barnsley and also in Schwäbisch Gmünd for their commitment and dedication with regards to the twinning activities.
May this friendly and close relationship between our towns continue to thrive for a long time in the future.
