40th Anniversary Celebrations
Where? - Barnsley Central Library
What time? - 11am start
When? - Saturday 18th June
The official opening by the Mayor of Barnsley will take place at 11am on Saturday, 18th June, there will also be food and drink (with a German flavour) donated by Lidl for people to sample and German speaking taster courses will add to the fun of the celebrations.
Live music will be provided by Worsbrough Brass who will themselves be in Schwäbisch Gmünd visiting Musikverein Stadtkapelle in July at the same time as the society visit this year.
A large colour display with many photographs and lots of information about Schwäbisch Gmünd will provide the answers to the quiz questions and a line drawing of Marienbrunnen and Johanniskirche in Schwäbisch Gmünd has been chosen as the colouring competition for the younger ones. There will also be a cabinet display of scrapbooks, photo albums and memorabilia which can be perused by people with a genuine interest.
Closing date for entries for both competitions will be Saturday, 9th July.
The month-long event will conclude at 11am on Saturday, July 16th with prize presentations by the Mayor together and a society official.
