Stadt-Jugend Kapelle in Barnsley

Schwäbisch Gmünder Stadt-Jugend Kapelle chooses Barnsley for their annual concert tour destination.
Stadt- Jugend Kapelle will be arriving in Barnsley on Monday 13th June ahead of a busy schedule of concerts and sight seeing. The group consists of approximately sixty active musicians all aged between 8yrs and 25yrs and all pupils in education in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
Already well experienced in concert performance they play at a wide variety of occasions including regular appearances at the Schwäbisch Gmünd 'Stadtfest,' 'Weihnachtsfest' and 'Carnival'.
They regularly do well at competitions, the good results they tell me are despite and because of the informal and relaxed atmosphere in the band.
Parents of every student pay a nominal fee each year and a "friends" group was formed to support and raise funds to promote the musical education of the young people of Schwäbisch Gmünd.
The group also attends the 'Lake Festival' each year, an event providing social and leisure activities, fun and entertainment for young people.
Whitsun is the usual time for their annual concert tour and having been to so many places around the world in between we are delighted to welcome Stadt-Jugend Kapelle back to their twin town in 2011.
High on the agenda whilst staying in Barnsley are their requested trips to York and the National Mining Museum in Wakefield, sandwiched in between on Wednesday 15th
is your chance to see and hear them when they play in Barnsley town centre.
They have also been asked to perform at a private Mayoral event at Cannon Hall during the week.
Boasting such a wide variety of instruments they have a repertoire to match with music from musicals, rock and pop to classical and film.
Come along and hear them on Wednesday, they're sure to play music to delight you!
